Cork: The Ovens, 18 October 2014

A group of three men in a pub in Cork were playing tunes fast, quite possibly faster than I'd ever heard anyone play tunes before. A man at the bar informed me that this was Donegal style: "the further north you go, the faster it gets".

One of the polkas was rather fine and the accordion player was kind enough to play it for me after they'd finished. He didn't know the name, and neither did I. Neither do I know the name of the band, if there is one. The name of the pub is The Ovens.
